Patricia Metivier has been a long-time resident of Etobicoke. She started her teaching career at Father John Redmond High School and has been at Michael Power for over ten years. Patti has always been involved in the sport of running going back to her OFSAA days at Michael Power to coaching at Father Redmond.
She recently was a first time participant in last month’s Chicago Marathon and was the 4th Canadian woman in her age group to cross the finish line in an impressive time of (3:26) three hours and twenty six minutes.
Coached by her husband Andre, training became a family affair. Along this journey she was supported by her nephew, Matthew Turano, also a resident of Etobicoke, and her three children who at times would go for a run with their Mom.
“I was so impressed with Patti’s finishing time for her first marathon. She is a natural born runner and after having such a great experience with her first marathon, I’m sure the next one is in the near future.” says Joanne Noble Chair of the Etobicoke Sports Hall of Fame.
