Etobicoke gymnast is the athlete of the month
Karstadt hopes to compete in Junior Olympics this summer
Etobicoke born, Justin Karstadt is 17 years old and a student in the High Performer program at Silverthorn Collegiate Institute.
He is a member of the Canadian Junior National Gymnastics Team and recognized for setting and achieving high standards both at the gym and at school. He is a results oriented leader and team player who consistently makes the podium at Canadian National competitions.
His most recent medals were achieved in Brazil at the 2014 Junior Pan Am Games in March where he won silver in the pommel horse event and helped the team to a bronze.
Justin has been a member of the Canadian Age Group National Team member since 2007 and has been a role model for many young gymnasts in Canada. He is an Honour student every year and is well liked and admired for his determination, focus and easy-going personality.
Justin’s next goal is to make it to China this August to compete in the Junior Olympics. He is fundraising and has his own website where the general public can support him by making a donation. www.supportjustinkarstadt.com
