Athlete
of the Month

Rosemary Salvatore

June 2014

Summary

Rosemary Salvatore is well known at Markland Wood Golf Club. She was born and raised in Etobicoke and her Father who was one of the original members when the club opened in 1964 had a strong influence on Rosemary’s golfing career. She was 10 years old when she started playing golf and has been a member at Markland Wood GC for 45 years. But more notably, she has won the Club Championship 29 times!!! In the golf world, this is a huge accomplishment.

Rosemary is a true competitor and has been a mentor to many golfers rising up through the system. She has also organized numerous club events throughout her years and is very well respected in the golf community. You will always see Rosemary surrounded by her many friends. Markland Wood Golf Club played host to the Toronto Star Women’s Amateur this week where some of the best female golfers in the country compete, so it’s only fitting that Rosemary tee’d it up once again.
