Summary

Danielle Dupius took over as the Humber Hawks sideline sports reporter in 2016 and became a member of the BRTV Broadcast crew at Humber Hawks home games. In the past year, Humber College hosted the OCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, and Danielle observed at the sideline to report every game, followed by a post-game interview with the player of the game, regardless if they were a member of the Humber Women’s Basketball Team or not.

Most people would figure her program of study is Journalism, from her experience and how she presents herself. Oddly enough, Danielle is in her final year in the Bachelor of Public Relations program. This program addresses public speaking and reporting, which is why Danielle adjusted so quickly in this role. If it weren’t for her former teammate and former recipient of this award, Jake Thomson, she wouldn’t have had the opportunity. With her passion for writing and her newfound love of sports writing, she is currently reporting on the Humber Hawks Cross Country team. In 2017, Danielle helped the Hawks achieve Silver at the 2017–18 OCAA Cross Country Championship.
