Vecchio, 6, working to become as good as idol Phil Kessel
Brennan Vecchio, 6, is the Etobicoke Sports Hall of Fame athlete of the month. Born to skate, Brennan started playing hockey at the age of three and just recently completed his final year at the Tyke level.

This past year Brennan enjoyed playing hockey at Humber Valley Hockey Association making many new friends who all shared the same love of the sport.

In addition to playing at the house league level, Brennan had the opportunity to play on the select team scoring 21 goals in 21 games and ended the year on a high, scoring five goals in the final game. Another highlight for Brennan was playing in a local tournament and picking up the MVP award.

Although he is surrounded by Toronto Maple Leafs fans at home, Brennan’s favourite team to cheer for is the Chicago Blackhawks, but his favourite NHL player is Leafs’ forward Phil Kessel. And by the sounds of it, he can score just like Kessel.
